WordPress

I started designing websites in 2000 using a drag and drop program called Web Studio. It was easy but limiting especially as technology changed. WordPress Is so easy and offers so many options to set up a blog, business, or eCommerce.

WordPress is free with basic templates, but depending on what you need from your website, you may need to upgrade to programs such as Elegant Themes. Keep in mind a well-designed website helps establish your credibility for your business or blog to your readers and google.

When I came across Elegant Themes and started using Divi, it blew me away. The design capability is incredible, and even newbies can drag and drop like a pro.

They have great customer support; they send update information on their designs so you can grow and improve your craft. Also make sure you join their FaceBook group to keep up on great tips & information.

Check them out! They cost a little more, but they’re worth it.

Hosting

You are going to need a host for your website. I just started using HostGator last year and I have found them affordable and easy to use. Their C-Panel dashboard is simple to navigate and if you get stuck that have a great support system – which is key for me.

I manage several sites on this host and it’s very easy to manage each of them through HostGator. It allows me to set up emails that coordinate with each domain with a few clicks and have the emails forward to my own email (or my clients) so I’m not having to open several different email accounts (and driving myself crazy!)

GoDaddy

I have used GoDaddy since the very beginning. I’ve switch using them for hosting to HostGator mainly because HostGator has more features and is easier to use. However, I do continue to use GoDaddy for buying domains.

If you purchase your domain from GoDaddy and then use another host, you just need to redirect your name server which is pretty simple. Then your domain (www.yourbiz.com) will be pointing to the host where you can build your website.

GoDaddy’s support system is awesome! I’ve called them over the years at all hours and they are always calm and walk me through whatever mess I created! And the few times that I stumped them, they would talk with their colleagues and figure it out.

Another point, when buying any domain they ask if you want to pay for keeping it private. With GoDaddy I do not recommend buying the privacy feature. It’s not needed and sometimes causes email issues.

LeadPages

To build pages for ads & sale funnels, LeadPages is one of the best. They have templates that have a proven track record for drawing your customers in – and that’s the name of the game folks!

Their customer service is amazing! I got stuck on my first project using their templates, but I emailed them and asked how to connect the sign up opt in to the lead page. I wasn’t expecting a email back in less than 10 minutes – and I was blown away when they copied my work, made a video and gave me a step by step through the process! What?! I was sold.

You can create your whole campaign through LeadPages. They offer lots of great features so you can build Facebook ads, test them and turn leads into customers.

I have other products to build ads/pages from, however I have customers that need a quick, easy to use tool like Leadpages that’s perfect for them.

GetResponse

Let’s say you have a sign up for a newsletter or free pdf guide on your website, your reader clicks on it and GetResponse collects the email address for you and automatically sends them the info – plus can start your email campaign. 

You can create everything from landing pages to newsletters, however the format to create stunning emails and capability to send out to your list when and where you want…makes this a very valuable and time saving tool for your business.

Affordable and they offer a free trial too.
